If you have more than one child, you know they can be as different as night and day. This seems to be a popular question people have about twins and I can assure you, twins, too, are as different as night and day. One of the ways that mine differ is how they play. Jenna is more of an explorer. She spends her time checking everything out and seeing if there is anything new she can get into. Layla, on the other hand, really takes a liking to her toys. She can spend what is considered an eternity in kid time just tinkering with her toys and would be happy to play with the same things day in and day out. Her ability to focus and devote so much time to a single activity is one of my favorite things about her little personality. She's just so darn cute when she's completely immersed in what she's doing...you can just see the wheels turning in her head. I could sit and watch her play for hours, but I'm usually needing to go check on what Jenna has gotten into. Don't get me wrong, Jenna likes her toys too...just only for a few minutes. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.
For the month of December, the house was all decked out in its Christmas glory and, for the most part, the decor was off limits to the girls. However, on the bottom shelf of one table, there was a Fisher Price Nativity Set with their names written all over it. Jenna liked it just fine, but Layla LOVED it. Just look at how sweet she is when she's playing...
She got a kick out of pushing the button on top to play "Away in the Manger".
Layla: "Check out my cow!"
Layla: "And here's the camel."
Layla: "You go over here, Mr. Camel."
Jenna: "Hey, sis! Whatcha doin?"
Layla: "Just playing with the Nativity set."
Jenna: "Oh that's cool."
Jenna: "I'm outta here!"
See what I mean? Jenna is always moving on to the next thing! I love how different they are. I mean, can you imagine how boring life would be if your kids were all the same?
