All Grown Up

If you've been paying any attention to the ticker to the right of this post, you know that Layla and Jenna will be 2 years old in less than one month!  It's so hard for me to believe that my babies aren't babies any more.  Let's face it, they technically haven't been babies for almost a year now, but you better believe I'll be holding on to the old adage "they'll always be my babies" forever.  I still call them babies and, often times, I still treat them like babies.  It isn't until I catch them doing something like this that I'm reminded just how grown up they are.

Now that is what I call concentration!  Layla is so focused on collecting all of her writing utensils in her cup.

Check out Jenna's pencil grip...impressive!  Sorry, that was the 1st grade teacher coming out in me.

The phrase you see printed over the age ticker is from one of my favorite kid songs by Frances England.   It's called "You and Me" and I promise if you take a moment to look it up and listen to it, you will be playing it at some point in your child's future...graduation, wedding, first birthday (yeah, I did that).  It's such a sweet song and super appropriate for this post...

How did you grow so big overnight?
How did you get so smart and bright?
Yesterday you were asleep in my arms,
Today you're growing off the charts.
I'm so proud of you.

Layla and Jenna, your Mommy and Daddy are so very proud of you.
