Easter Eggstravaganza

Our church held its annual Easter Eggstravaganza on the Saturday before Easter.  Layla and Jenna, being the little social butterflies they are, actually had 3 Easter events scheduled at the same time on that day.  Unfortunately, we couldn't go to all (even though they really, really wanted to).  Nonetheless, they had a blast at church seeing all their friends, playing games, and hunting for a few eggs.

"We're all dressed and ready to go!"

When we first arrived, Layla and Jenna were given their first egg.
Layla: "Cool!  I didn't even have to hunt for this one!"

Jenna: "Here you go, Mr. Egg...you go right in there."

Jenna: "What's next?"

How about some games???

Layla: "Ooh, my favorite...PLINKO!"

Jenna: "Ooh, Daddy!  I think this one is headed toward a prize!"

Yep, she got her prize...

Jenna: "What do you mean I'm not supposed to eat the paper?"

Jenna: "Watch this slam dunk!"

Layla: "Okay, I just gotta focus...I can do this!"

Layla: "Another prize?  Don't mind if I do!"

There were a couple different egg hunts.  Layla and Jenna took part with the preschool and under crowd. Layla got right down to business!

Jenna was a little distracted.

Layla: "Yes!  Another one!"

Jenna: "Who cares about eggs when there are stairs to climb???"

Layla: "Hey, where are you guys going?!?!?"

Actually, both girls thoroughly enjoyed the stairs.

Jenna: "We should play here every Sunday!"

Eventually, we were able to wrangle them both to the front to TRY and get picture.  But, they were either looking down....

...or off to the side...

...or just all together backwards!  That's about par for the course!

Oh come on, Layla!  Will you please take a picture with Mommy???"

Jenna: "How much longer do I have to stand here getting my picture taken?"

Let's go Layla!  There's an 'all ages' egg hunt starting on the other side!
Layla: "I'm coming!!!"

Layla: "Oh wait, let me stop and play this game again since I was so good at it the first time."

Layla: "Ooh and I've got to stop and see how this Peep Race turns out."
(Yes, they were actually blowing up Peeps in the microwave to see which would burst first!)

Layla: "Well, sure...I'll have a Peep!  Might as well since I'm already here!"

By the time Layla made it to the 'all ages' hunt, it was already over.
Layla: "Oh well, at least I can still slide!"

Layla: "Hey!  Sissy took my Peep!"

And that was our cue to call it a day.

But, not before Jenna tried to bring the parking cones with us.

Jenna: "I got this, guys!"

Sorry, Jenna, but if it doesn't fit in your Easter basket, you can't bring it home.

All in all, the Easter Eggstravaganza was so much fun and the girls had a great time!  We are so thankful to be part of such a wonderful church everyday of the week, but especially during special occasions like this.
